Wayne has been an automatic driving instructor for many years now and loves his job, although it wasn't always what he'd planned to do when he  was younger.

After finishing school, Wayne went on to college and university where he obtained a law degree before being offered a management position working in food retail for a large national company. Wayne worked in management for well over a decade and a big part of his job involved training and developing his colleagues; teaching them the necessary skills to further their careers. It was this passion for teaching others that would see him later leave the retail sector and train to become a driving instructor so he could focus all his time on the aspect of his previous job that he loved most - teaching others. 

Wayne trained with Bill Plant Driving School who are regarded as one of the UK’s best driving instructor training providers. Their Gold and Silver success as Training Providers of the Year for a number of years, highlights the level of training Wayne underwent and the driving instructors they produce are considered among the finest in the nation.

After working as a Franchisee with Bill Plant Driving School for a number of years, Wayne eventually decided to branch out and work independently and started WAY A.HEAD Automatic Driving School in April 2023 and hasn't looked back since.

He loves teaching people how to become safe and confident drivers and has worked with students of all ages from 18-60+. He has also worked with pupils that have had no experience behind a wheel to those that have come from other instructors or had previously taken tests. He has also taught a large contingent of people who don't speak English as a first language and has thrived on the challenge of teaching them despite a language barrier!
